A Proper IPA in Scotland

Image
Of course, it wasnt cheap. I guess the price of hops has jacked up IPA beer all over. I found this one in St Andrews

Cousin Alasdair bakes us a cake!

Image
What a generous gesture! After the three of us sat down to a store bought hockey puck Banoffee cake the previous evening, Alasdair baked us a proper cake the next day. Outstanding in every way.

A cold and wet day for a hike

Image
Rona and I drove up to these mountains that Mark referred to them as "breasts". Anyhow, we kind of hiked them. It was more like I bee lined it downhill to the cafe in a village at the base. Rona met me there

The Beer Eighty?

Image
The first day in St Andrews, I am walking from Mark's place to downtown. I needed to get a US to UK adaptor. So I ask a local Scotsman direction. What I heard him say is "Do you know where the 'beer 80" is? Like, maybe that was a name of a pub? I was later to learn he was saying 'the Byre Theater"! Things improved a bit from there, except for the Gaelic of course.

Uncle Mark's invitation to the Kings Coronation

Mark loves this stuff, especially having been a Scottish herald etc.

On Ryan Air to Edinburg Scotland

Image
Going to visit Uncle Mark. It had been almost 10years! I got on Ryan Air, an experience in itself. The ticket is cheap. But they gouge out of you the difference such as paying xtra to have luggage, to have an assigned seat, etc. The plastic seats were so thin, i had to take a photo.
